Fall 2025 Exhibit
The A.M. Todd Rare Book Room proudly announces the opening of its Fall exhibit, “The Golden Age of Illustration,” running from September 15 to November 25, 2025. The exhibit is open to visitors Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:00 – 5:00 pm and other times by appointment.
Text and imagery have been connected from the first uses of written word. Consequently, as literature progressed, so did its accompanying illustrations. This exhibit showcases the flourishing era of literary illustration at the turn of the 20th century, with examples of immense artistic skill from illustrators such as Arthur Rackham and Aubrey Beardsley. In addition to the other classic volumes on display, we are pleased to announce the viewing of the newest aquisition to the Rare Book Room: East of the Sun, West of the Moon: Old Tales from the North, with stunning illustrations by Danish illustrator Kay Nielsen.
